LIDSTONE, David “Dave“ - Peacefully, with his loving family by his side, Dave went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 15, 2009. Beloved husband of Rosemary for 52 years. Father of Greg (Caroline), Michael (Mary), Daveen and Rose-Anne. Grandfather of Josephine (deceased at birth), Matthew and Carla. Step-grandfather of Rachel Shaw, and Brittany Nisbett. Brother of Ellis, Carl and their families. Predeceased by his brothers Carman and Wilfred. Dave worked at the Georgia-Pacific (Beaver Wood Fibre) for 45 years, retiring in 1997. He also drove tractor trailer part time for Quinn Truck Lines. Upon retirement from the paper mill and the truck line, Dave went to work for CM Construction. He was a very well liked individual and will be missed by many of his family, friends and his canine friend Bowser. Our family would like to thank Dr. Dennis Whitty and palliative care nurse Babes Morales for their compassionate care. In accordance with Dave's wishes cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to SIMPLER TIMES CREMATION CENTRE. A celebration of Dave's life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Thorold South Gospel Chapel on Davis Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dave's favourite charity; Thorold South Gospel Chapel Orphanage Fund.
