HURD, Kenneth Ross - At the North Bay General Hospital Scollard Site on Tuesday, October 20, 2009, in his 72 year. Beloved husband of the late Helen (nee Kalinosky). Loving father of Ross Jr. (Shanna) of London, Joanne Hurd of North Bay and Christine McKinty of Ottawa. Sadly missed by grandchildren Julie, Austin, Michael, Joshua, and Sophia. Brother to Beatrice, Ted, Mary, and Cliff and Jim (predeceased). He will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and friends. Ross was born in Parry Sound where he began his 40+ year career as a butcher/meat manager which took him to Rouyn-Noranda and then to North Bay. Where to find Ross when he wasn't working was on the basketball court (in earlier years), in the bush hunting or picking berries, at the cottage fishing, or in the garden. In recent years, Grandpa was the #1 fan at many basketball, volleyball, and hockey games. He will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him. Friends may call at MARTYN FUNERAL HOME on Friday, October 23, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Christ Church Anglican (Vimy St.) on Saturday, October 24, 2009 at 11 a.m. A reception will be hosted at the church following the service.
