KRAR, Joe - We are saddened at the passing of Joe Krar on October 21, 2009 at Welland Hospital at the age of 78. Devoted husband of Doris Krar (Schaefer) for 53 loving years. Loving father of Greg (Cathy) Krar, Linda Alexander, David (Jo-Anne Giroux) Krar, and Jolene (Chris) Ciccarelli. Much loved papa of Stephanie, Joshua, Lauren, Kellyn, Justis, Kristen, Nathan and Graeme. Dear brother of Steve (Alice) Krar and Frank (Odette) Krar. Predeceased by his parents John and Mary Krar, brother John Krar and infant son Peter David. Joe was a dedicated, passionate and innovative educator for 32 years. He started his teaching career in Port Colborne in 1956, then taught at Welland Eastdale Secondary School and was Vice Principal/Principal at Welland Centennial Secondary School from 1967 - 1976. He furthered his passion for education by teaching elementary students, ending his stellar career guiding gifted children until his retirement in 1984. His love and passion for teaching inspired his own children in their choice of careers in education. Friends may call at J.J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence 19 Young Street, Welland on Friday from 6-9 p.m. A Vigil will be conducted at 6 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Denis Roman Catholic Church, 230 Lake Street, St. Catharines on Saturday morning at 11 o'clock. Rite of Committal at Holy Cross Cemetery in Welland on Saturday afternoon at 2:30.
