HABICHER, Mary Catherine (née Robertson) - died on October 14, 2009, at her Cambridge home with her beloved husband Wolfgang and sons Michael and Ian by her side. Born in Lennoxtown, Scotland, in 1934, daughter of George and Catherine (née Morris, both predeceased), Mary and her family moved to Niagara Falls, Ontario, in 1957. She met Wolfgang in Toronto and they wed in 1974, raising their sons in Pointe Claire and Ottawa. Mary trained in nursing at St. Michael's in Toronto and worked at Niagara General, the Central Hospital in Toronto, and the Glebe Centre in Ottawa. She loved the company of her family and her friends, whom she had a gift for making everywhere she went. She enjoyed sunshine, tea, and road-trips, and will be remembered for her devotion, creativity, sunny personality, and dry wit. Mary is survived by sister Georgina and brothers Ken, John, and Alec. She passed away after a year-long battle with duodenal cancer, and the family would like to thank the nurses and doctors at Grand River and Cambridge Memorial hospitals and at ParaMed for their compassionate and excellent care. Arrangements are cremation with springtime internment in Mountview Cemetary. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Garg'n uair dhuisgear.
