PROFETA, Daniel “Dan” - Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer at the Greater Niagara General Hospital on Sunday October 25, 2009 at the age of 57. Beloved husband of 28 years to Mary (Rizzo) Profeta. Dearly loved and devoted father of Michael Profeta (Madalena Phillips). Cherished son of Michelina and the late Giulio Profeta (2001). Dear brother of Antonietta (Chris) Carducci and Iole (Eddy) Lostracco. Dear son-in-law of Giovanni and Lucrezia Rizzo and brother-in- law of Patti Shugg, John Rizzo and Steve (Yvonne) Rizzo. Lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Dan had a well respected career in the crane industry with over thirty years dedicated to leading crane companies such as Provincial Crane, Provincial Services, and most recently Kone Cranes. Dan was also a committed supporter of the Greater Niagara Baseball Association, having coached and served on the executive, earning the distinction of a life membership. Friends are invited to call at the PATTERSON FUNERAL HOME, 6062 Main St. visiting Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Church. The Rite of Committal will follow at Fairview Cemetery. In memory of Dan donations to the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be appreciated by his family.
