COPELAND, Robert Lawrence - in his 82nd year, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2009 at The Brant Centre, Burlington, born 14 August, 1928 in St. Catharines, son of the late Robert Copeland and Gladys May Hannigan. Robert was the beloved husband of Lois (Barkwell) Copeland of Burlington, dear father of Judy and husband Gerald Jardine of Peterborough, Jane and husband Don Chesney of Burlington, and Mark Copeland and wife Rachel of Burlington. Predeceased by his sons Robert Copeland (2004), David Copeland (1994), brothers Jack Copeland (1984) and Don Copeland (1994), sisters Bonnie Vaccaro (1987) and Joy Copeland (2006). Robert will be sadly missed and always remembered by his grandchildren Sean Rollo and wife Angela of Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Robin Rose and husband Jeff of Burlington, Robert Copeland of Hamilton, Candice Copeland of Burlington, his great grandchildren Ashley and Aaron Rose of Burlington, Ayden Rollo of Maple Ridge, BC, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Robert was a resident of Burlington for 44 years and was employed by Bell Canada for over 36 years until his retirement. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to Dr. Blair Costin, Dr. Karnis and the caring staff at The Brant Centre. Cremation has taken place and an immediate family gathering was held at Burlington Memorial Gardens.
