JOHNSTON, Edna (née Ayre) - Mrs. Edna Johnston at the South Lake Residential Care Village, Newmarket, Ontario on Friday October 30, 2009 at the age of 89 years; Past Matron and Life member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Beloved wife of the late John S. Johnston. Loving mother of Fiona Black (Michael) of Aurora, Ontario, and Morag Johnston (Arthur Wilson) of Toronto. Cherished Nana to Kyra and Graeme. Dear daughter of the late Frank “Gerald“ and Florence (Bones) Ayre. Predeceased by one sister, José Thompson. Resting at the WILSON FUNERAL HOME 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall where visitation will be held from 11:00 AM till 12:15 PM. Funeral service will be celebrated in Trinity Anglican Church, Cornwall, Ontario on Wednesday November 4, 2009 at 1:00 PM. The Reverend Jessica Worden celebrating. Committal to follow in St. Lawrence Valley Cemetery, Long Sault, Ontario. If so desired , contributions in her memory to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
