McNAUGHTON , Lorie Anne Lorie passed away with her mother at her side on Thursday, October 1, 2009. She was born in Maple Creek, SK. Lorie grew up and actively participated in many activities. Loosing a baby sister, Lorraine, left Lorie an only child, but Lorie was anything but lonely. Able to fill a room with her enthusiasm and energy, she made friends wherever she went. Her personality put people at ease and people were drawn to her which served her well in her career as a journalist. After college in Lethbridge, Lorie started her career as a reporter for the Vermilion Standard Newspaper and soon switched to television in Lloydminster. Lorie enjoyed a fulfilling career in various positions, including TV news anchor at various CBC stations in western Canada. Most recently she formed a video production company with her good friend Annie, and loved developing interesting and professional video productions. Marrying Jim Kvellestad in 1997, Lorie was able to express her creativity for interior design on their many new home projects. Her most prized role however started in 2000 with the arrival of Thompson, followed in 2005 by twins Astell and Andreas. A super mom and a great friend to her family, Lorie made our lives full of fun and love, she often said "I love being your Mom!" Even in the late stages of her illness she said "I am so lucky". Jim and the kids feel blessed to have built their lives with her. Mom and Dad are so proud of her. We will all remember her with joy.
