MANKALA, Heather After a long and courageous battle with cystic fibrosis for 11 years, at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario on Thursday, October 1st, 2009 at the age of 11 years. Loving daughter of Barbara Mankala and Marc Larocque. Dearest sister of Ashley Mankala-Proulx (fiance Fernando Tundo), Steven Mankala-Proulx, Michael Mankala-Proulx and Danielle Mankala. Predeceased by her grandparents Doreen Mankala (nee Daly) and Bonifacy "Ben" Mankala as well as by her great grandparents Ethel (nee Murray) Daly and Philip Daly. Survived by her grandparents Andre R. Larocque and Loraine Lepage. Niece of Luc Larocque and Nancy Fleming, Alain Larocque, Christine Mankala, Henry Mankala, Kim Mankala, Donald Daly, Anita Amiotte, Jim Trudeau, Rita Larocque (Rick) and their two daughters Rachel & Nicki, niece to Nathalie Menard (Serge), Mel Leonard (husband Steph) and Mario Cote. Cousin of David (wife Mary), Danny (wife Rachelle), Tanya Quintal, Sandra, Joseph "Joe", Vanessa, Noemie, Maryham, Maxime, Marc-Andre, Meagan, Clayton, Brianna, Dakota, Jade, Aiden, Roxanne, Jessica, Francis, Natdaniel, Cassandra, Jim Jr. as well as many other cousins in the Daly family. Heather will be fondly missed by many friends. The family would like to thank the nurses of CHEO 4W, the CHEO staff, Sarah and Manon. 4W was her second family. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 1077 Clarendon Street, Quyon, Quebec on Monday, October 5, 2009 and Tuesday, October 6th, 2009 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 5 St. John St., Quyon, Quebec on Wednesday, October 7th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at St. Bridget's Cemetery in North Onslow, Quebec.
