Stanislaw ZAPRZELSKI

ZAPRZELSKI , Stanislaw "Stan" December 27, 1947 - October 2, 2009 We inform with great sadness of Stan's sudden and unexpected death on October 2, 2009 at his acreage in Pine Lake, Alberta. He passed away with his wife, Maria, by his side. Stan was an only child of Irena and Stanislaw Zaprzelski. He was born in Wesola near Warsaw, Poland. He was a man of many talents. His greatest was master of repair from cars and motorcycles to his grandson's toys. His strengths included creativity, resourcefulness and organization. In school, he excelled in mathematics and sciences so a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Warsaw University of Technology was a natural fit. This degree enabled him to work at various automotive companies before starting a business of his own in Wesola. He was blessed to have been able to continue in his profession when he immigrated to Canada with his family in 1991. His favorite memory from his youth was a visit to London, England, to spend time with his beloved aunt Zofia Sikorska and cousin Teresa. He married the love of his life, Maria, almost thirty-five years ago and raised a family of two children, Agnes and Peter. He was thrilled with the arrival of his grandson, Jack, and was truly an exemplary grandpa. One of Stan's and Jack's favorite activities was lawnmower tractor rides together at the Pine Lake acreage. His passions included motorcycling, nature and gardening, natural sciences, bird watching and discussions about world events. He did not put much importance to material possessions. Instead, he cherished family and friends in Canada, Poland and England, and taught the same to his children. Stan is survived by his wife Maria; son Peter; daughter Agnes and her husband Scott Thompson and grandson Jack; sister-in-law Grace Crespo her husband Ralph Crespo and their children: Michael, Jonathan and fiancee Heather; parents of Scott: Lorne and Janelle Thompson, their daughter Erin Lalande her husband Mike and children: Wyatt, Owen, and Elyse; as well as Lorne and Janelle's son Jeff Thompson and wife Mira. We know he was close with God in life and is in His loving arms now. He will be remembered most for his genuine kindness, wisdom, compassion, and love and dedication to his family. He meant the world to us and he will be immensely missed. Until we meet again.
