WOOD, Gerald P. "Gerry" 1942-2009 Gerald P. Wood, "Gerry" loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew, uncle and friend was suddenly and tragically taken from us on Friday October 9, 2009 in a car accident in Knowlton, Quebec. In his 67 years he touched the lives and hearts of many through his infectious smile and laugh, his trusting and generous nature and his wonderful and genuine gift to welcome a stranger into his home and his heart with the same manner and intensity as he would a long time friend. As a pillar in the Knowlton community, he will be missed by many but his absence on this earth will be especially felt by his wife and friend Angie Miller, daughters: Deb (David), Michelle (Dean), Jennifer (Tim), Trish (Robbie), children of Angie: Marcie (Sylvain), Ryan (Holly), Jordan (Angela), Stacy, grandchildren: Zack, Ethan, Maggie, Oliver, Samuel, Noah, Tahlia & Nevin, step-grandchildren: Jade, Reagan, Ellie, Lucas, Haley & Reed, brother Chuck Wood (Andrea), nephews and nieces: Gordon (Victoria), Karen & Derek. The family will be receiving friends on Friday October 16th between 4 - 7 p.m. at the Desourdy Funeral Home, 318 Knowlton Rd., Knowlton (Lac Brome) Quebec J0E 1V0, (450) 263-1212, Fax: (450) 263-9557. Funeral services will be held on Saturday October 17th at the United Church at 1 p.m., Reverend and good friend to Gerry, Rick Allen officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered in Gerry's honour to the Ville de Lac Brome, First Responders Unit, 122 Lakeside, Lac Brome, Que. J0E 1V0. "Life is not measured by the years you live, but by the deeds you do and the joy you give". Gerry's life can only be measured in infinite values and will continue to live on in the hundreds of funny anecdotes and Gerry moments we cherish and share freely with smiles on our faces, laughter in our eyes, and overflowing love and gratitude in our hearts to have been so fortunate to have been a part of his wonderful life.
