DICKIE , Evelyn It is with great sadness that we say good-bye to our beloved Mom and Gabba, Evelyn Dickie, who passed away peacefully at the Drumheller Continuing Care Facility on October 10, 2009. Born in Delia, AB, on January 27, 1921, Evelyn was the eldest daughter of the late Felix and Irene Battle. She was predeceased by the love of her life, her husband Walter Dickie in 1983, and she is survived by one son, John Boyd Dickie of Vancouver, BC; daughters Lynne Dickie of Sylvan Lake, AB, Nova Kletchko (Dennis) of Calgary, AB, Marg Hunter of Sylvan Lake, AB and Joyce McKay (Scott) of Drumheller; her loving grandsons Maxwell and Wallace McKay of Drumheller; Derek Pickell of Granada, W.I. and granddaughter Brooke McCalmon of Sherwood Park, AB. Evelyn is also survived by her sisters Helen Bowen, Geneva Seagrave (Harvey), Alma Keenan and Gloria Johnson (Keith) and her three brothers, Lester Battle (Betty), Jess Battle (Elsie) and Wayne Battle (Gina). She also leaves to mourn, five great-grandchildren, several loving nieces, and nephews, and friends who will remember her fondly. Services for Evelyn will be held at the Knox United Church in Drumheller, AB at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 16, 2009. Evelyn's Family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Drumheller Continuing Care Facility for their wonderful care.
