Pauline ZARAFONITIS

OBITUARY PAULINE NICOLOPOULOS (nee ZARAFONITIS / DEMITRE) 1911-2009 Passed away peacefully on October 13, 2009 at Vigi Reine-Elizabeth in her ninety-ninth year. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Peter Nicolopoulos and daughter of the late Demitre Zarafonitis and Stamatina Argyrakis. Loving mother of Irene (Bill Pothitos) and Nadine (Dr. Chris Tsoukas). Cherished and adored grandmother of Jennifer Pothitos, Jason, Peter-Nicholas, Paul and Stephen Tsoukas. Dear sister of the late Michael, late Anthony (Andrea Demitre), late George (Nadine Demitre), late Theodore (Starr Demitre) and Martha (late George Liakopoulos.) She will also be remembered by nieces, nephews and cousins. Pauline's parents were one of the first Greek families to immigrate to Canada in the 1800's and were one of the founding families of Montreal's Greek Community. A very warm thank you to her caregivers Doris and Annie whose kindness over the last few years has been greatly appreciated. We also wish to express our gratitude to the very caring and compassionate staff of the fifth floor at the Vigi Reine-Elizabeth. The family will receive condolences on Friday, October 16 from 1 to 9 p.m. at the Mount Royal Funeral Complex, 1297 Chemin de la Foret, Outremont, Quebec, H2V 2P9, (514) 279-6540. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the Complex on Saturday, October 17 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society would be greatly appreciated.
