Eric Bernard MacEwen, Fredericton Eric Bernard MacEwen died in Fredericton, N.B., at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital on October 12, 2009, after a long illness. Eric was born on January 30, 1934, to the late John (Jack) Harold MacEwen and the late Anne Matilda MacEwen (nee Peters) in Norwood, Mass. He was raised in Souris, P.E.I., and was a resident of Fredericton, N.B., since 1960. He owned the Credit Bureau of Fredericton for many years and was chairman of the Associated Credit Bureaus of the Atlantic Provinces. He was a volunteer with the Kinsmen Club, Chimo, United Way and Muriel McQueen Ferguson Foundation. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Claire MacEwen (nee Paquet); his son, Eric (Rick) St. Clair MacEwen, daughter-in-law, Nancy Ruth MacEwen (nee McPherson), granddaughter, Laura Jane MacEwen of Ottawa, Ont.; daughter, Kelly Ann Ingram (nee MacEwen), son-in-law, Andrew Ingram of Caledonia, Ont., and their children, Nicola Ingram and Nolan Ingram; sister, Catherine Gallant (nee MacEwen); brother-in-law, Michael Gallant, Charlottetown, P.E.I.; sister, Ethel MacEwen of Victoria, B.C.; sisters-in-law, Edna Almond (nee Paquet) of Kamloops, B.C.; Grace LaRochelle (nee Paquet) of Fredericton, N.B.; Elinor (Ollie) Hughes (nee Paquet) of Charlottetown, P.E.I.; bother-in-law, Alan Paquet of Summerside, P.E.I.; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will take place at York Funeral Home, 302 Brookside Drive, on Wednesday, October 14, 2009, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will take place at St. Theresa's Parish on Thursday, October 15, 2009, at 2 p.m. with Father John Jennings as celebrant. Interment will take place in Hermitage Cemetery. Due to allergies the family requests no scented flowers. Remembrances may be made to the Oncology Clinic of the DECRH or the charity of the donor's choice, would be appreciated. The family would like to thank the staff of the Oncology Clinic of the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital and Dr. Gordon McDonald for all their support and care.
