NUMMELIN, Ilona 2009-10-28 (Sirkka) Ilona With heavy hearts the family of Ilona Nummelin (nee Tyriseva) announces her passing at the age of 82, on Friday, October 23, 2009 in Bethammi Nursing Home after a long, courageous battle with Parkinson’s Disease. Ilona was born May 11, 1927 in Lappee, Finland immigrating to Thunder Bay, Ontario in 1984 to marry her soul mate Matti on December 31, 1984. Ilona will be sadly missed by Matti, her loving husband of 25 years, step-children Kaj (Jennifer Peel)Nummelin, Thunder Bay, Heidi (Ken) McCartney, Calgary, Alberta en route, Sari (Salvatore) Garieri, Thunder Bay, Tiina (Tim) Dagnall, Brampton, Ontario en route and Sini (Dennis Carnegie) Nummelin, Brampton, Ontario en route, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and relatives here in Canada and Finland. Cremation has taken place and a Private Family Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 1, 2009 at Bethammi Chapel, officiated by Pastor Jari Lahtinen. A private interment will take place at a later date. Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May St. at Cameron in care of arrangements. " I am so lost without you, My love, my life.
