In Loving Memory Of Emily Vale (Foote) MacPhee July 6, 1918 - October 14, 2009 Peacefully, at home with her daughter by her side on October 14, 2009 Emily Vale MacPhee in her 92nd year. Born in South Acton, Massachusetts on July 6, 1918 she was the daughter of John and Mae (Barnaby) Foote and was raised and educated in Nova Scotia. She was a respected teacher for 33 years, and is survived by her children, Garnet and Heather (Randy), grandchildren James (Sarah), Melanie (Heath) and five Great-Grandchildren, Madison, Gavin, Otty, Noelle and Hunter. She moved to Perth, Ontario in 1981 when she retired. She was an active community member who enjoyed entertaining seniors with readings and poetry at "Keenagers" and was a proud participant in the Annual Terry Fox Run, which she completed with ease in her 70's and even in her 81st year. She was an avid reader and loved books, continually learning and teaching others. She read the Bible through each year and her favorite verse was Jeremiah 33:3 "Call unto Me, and I will answer Thee, and show Thee great and mighty things which thou knowest not." She will be missed by family and friends as well as her church, Rideau Christian Fellowship and is joyfully welcomed by her heavenly family. Visitation will be held at Blair and Son Funeral Home on Sunday, October 18, 2009 from 1-4 pm., with Funeral at Rideau Fellowship Church on Monday, October 19, 2009 at 10:00 am. She will be laid to rest at Elmwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Published in the Ottawa Citizen on 10/17/2009
