STANLEY, John Victor June 5th 1923 to October 18th 2009 Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather Born in Ottawa, Ontario, and passed away peacefully this past Sunday morning October 18th, 2009 in Ladner, British Columbia. With his family gathered by his side and at his beloved cottage, his final week was one of warmth, comfort and prayer. John is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Alfreda, his son Alfred and daughter-in-law Helen (grandchildren John, Helen and Stuart), daughter Katherine and son-in-law David (grandchildren Shea, Cooper and Reese) and daughter Jacqueline and son-in-law Phillip (grandchildren Sadie, Josie, Kate, Mary and Michael). John was predeceased by his father James Victor and his loving mother Katherine. John was successful in business, as President of Chemex Labs in Calgary, Alberta for 20 years and then Chief Operating Officer of the successor company Maxxam Analytics. Dad's true loves were his family, the Catholic Church and a little golf. He was the two time President of Pinebrook Golf and Country Club in Calgary and a 50 year member of Shaughnessy G&CC in Vancouver. He was a devoted Catholic and served as the President of the Parish Council at St. Anthony's in Calgary where he was a parishioner for over 25 years. Dad's greatest joy was his family and he will always be remembered for gathering the family for summers at the cottage in Point Roberts, Washington. He will be truly missed by all his grandchildren. A special thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Palliative Care staff at Delta Hospital. A very special thank you from our entire family to the staff at Augustine House in Ladner, Dad's retirement home for the past five years. In lieu of flowers please make any donations to the Delta Hospital Foundation in John's name. The Funeral Mass to celebrate John's life will be held in the Chapel at Sacred Heart Church, 3900 Arthur Drive, Ladner B.C. at 10:30 on Friday morning, October 23rd, 2009.
