BROWN , Dr. Malcolm (Mac) April 30, 1920 - October 20, 2009 It is with much sadness that the family announces the passing of a loving husband, father and grandfather. Mac is survived by his wife, Jennie of sixty-six years; son, Robert (Cathy) and their children David and Ariell of Los Angeles, California; son, Thomas (Maria) and their son Keenan of Calgary; sister Edith Harvey of Ormstown, Quebec and her children, Charlie and Anne. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force 1940 - 1945. He received a Bachelor of Music Degree, University of Montreal in 1948 and Doctorate of Education Degree, Florida State University, Tallahassee in 1960. He taught music and directed choirs in many schools, universities and churches throughout Canada and the United States. Mac joined the staff of the University of Calgary in 1964 as Head of Fine Arts Department and retired Professor Emeritus in 1981. The family wish to express their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff at Bethany Care Centre for the loving care and attention received during his stay there. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, October 26, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at LEYDEN'S Chapel of Remembrance (corner of 17 Avenue and 2 Street S.W.). Interment will be at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens.
