CARR , Allan Joseph 1947 - 2009 Allan Joseph Carr, beloved husband of Claire, passed away on October 17, 2009. Allan was born November 18, 1947 in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan to Joe and Alice Carr. He moved to Black Diamond/Turner Valley area in 1953. Al was employed in Turner Valley with Home Oil and Western Decalta and then moved to Lloydminster with Husky Oil until 1990. He was employed by Stellarton Energy and then became a partner in Grid Resources where he was VP of Operations. Al retired in 2003. In Lloydminster, he was active in Kinsmen, curling, minor hockey, golf and was a member of the Catholic School Board. Al loved to hunt and fish. Al is survived by his wife Claire and his children Christopher (Charlene) Carr, Robin (Garnet) Zarowny and Cameron (Kim) Carr. He is also survived by ten grandchildren; Jessica, Larissa and Colby Carr, Zachary and Mackenzie Zarowny, and Braden, Tanner, Logan, Alyson and Sydney Carr. Al is also survived by brothers, Glen (Colleen), Tim (Joan), John (Brenda), Troy; sisters, June (Andre), Linda (Steve), Diane, Judy (Wayne), Susan (Tony), Nancy (Bruce), Sharon, and Bonnie. He is also survived by the mother of his children Penny Ward as well as numerous nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents Joe and Alice, brothers, Gary Glen and Little Joe, sister, Jeannie and stepson Michael Russell. The family wish to thank the doctors/nurses of the Cardiac Function Unit, the Liver Transplant Units, and the Foothills EMS for the excellent care given. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, October 23, 2009 at the SNODGRASS FUNERAL CHAPEL, Okotoks at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations in the name of Allan Carr may be made to the Alberta Liver Transplant Unit or to the Cardiac Function Unit Foothills Hospital, 1403 - 29 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 9Z9.
