SPROTT, Alice Josephine (Press) Statistics Canada, Retired November 25, 1922 - October 21, 2009 Alice passed away peacefully at the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre. Beloved wife of the late Douglas Sprott. Loving mother to Douglas Jr., Ian and Gary (Gail). Cherished grandmother, "Nanny" to Andrew, Kim, Jeremy, Christopher, Natalie and great-grandmother to Nicholas. Dear sister to Eileen Blossom and Peter Press. Alice came to Canada as a War Bride from London, England in 1945. She was proud to call Canada her home but said she "would always be a Brit". She will be remembered by many for her outgoing personality, wit and tremendous generosity, her beautiful English garden and the many gatherings at the house and the cottage. At Alice's request there will be no visitation or service. In lieu of flowers or donations, please consider donating a gift to the Salvation Army Toy Mountain this upcoming holiday season in the spirit of her generosity and care for others.
