BOYD, David M., M.D. April 13, 1918 to October 19, 2009 David shared 65 wonderful years with wife Sydney (nee Grant) and children Robin Hadcock (Jim), Lindsay Boulton (David), Mossom, and Jill Robertson (Bruce). He is also survived by his sister Patricia Stone, 5 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild and many cousins, nephews and nieces. David spent his early years floating in a house on Lake Cowichan with parents Cust and Grace and sisters Ottilie and Pat. He moved to Victoria for school at St. Michaels and Oak Bay High School, finishing with his medical degree from the University of Toronto. He retired in 1981 from his pediatric practice and as the Medical Superintendent of the Queen Alexandra Solarium to pursue a lifelong dream to partially circumnavigate North America in his sailboat Colymbus with wife, Sydney. He was a handyman extraordinaire (domestic duties excluded), with a gentle nature and quiet sense of humour, and he will be greatly missed. An informal gathering to share memories will be held at 644 Beach Drive on November 1 from 2 5 pm. 565860 Published in the Victoria Times-Colonist from 10/23/2009- 10/24/2009
