MUNROE, Lorraine Rilla (Kelly) On December 11, 2004 at home with family around her in Richmond BC after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Predeceased by her husband Harry Amos, May 10, 1992. They spent many years with the Armed Forces in Eastern Canada, Ottawa and in Germany (1957-1960). Harry retired in from the Armed Forces in Ottawa in 1964 and moved to Richmond BC in 1988. Mom was employed by the Public Service of Canada from which she retired in 1973. She was also a member and past Worthy Grand Matron of the Order of the Easter Star Crescent Chapter #75 in Ottawa. Born in Edmonton Alberta March 4, 1922, she grew up in Ottawa. Survived by her four children Major Richard, (retired), (Tannis), St. Albert, Alberta, Dennis (Anne) (Statford, PEI), Sharon (Bruce) McKay (Quyon PQ) and Susan (Jamie) Livingston of Richmond, BC. She is remembered by her grandchildren, Stephanie and Ken (Ying), Kevin (Darlene) and Mark Munroe, Terry (Cindy) and Susan McKay and Michael, Amy, Kelli and Kyle Livingston. She also leaves to mourn her great-grandchildren Cassie, Becky, Cory, Edward and Christopher. Lorraine is survived by sister Marion (Bill) Saunders, brother Lawrence (Veda) Kelly (Ottawa) and sister-in-law Diana Kelly of Markham ON. Mom will be fondly remembered for her bright and hopeful outlook on life, her kindness, generosity and how she always had an ear to listen. Funeral and interment in the spring at Pinecrest Cemetery. Remembrance Services will be announced at Ottawa, Ontario prior to interment. In lieu of flowers donations to the Heart & Stroke Fund or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated. Published in the Ottawa Citizen on 1/15/2005
