Doris Fichtner 1927 2009 The peaceful passing of Doris Fichtner occurred on Wednesday, October 21st, 2009 at the age of 81. Mom is remembered by her daughters, Brenda McLean, Patricia Blue (David) and Cindy Toutloff (Steve); granddaughters, Tina Jackson (Michael) and Christa Fichtner (Jason Yagelnesky); greatgranddaughters, Alicia Jackson and Rebecca Jackson; two surviving sisters, Lena Kern of Lloydminster, AB and Anne Murphy of Vancouver, BC; as well as very special family friends, Sherry and Katie Mountain. Mom was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Albert Fichtner in 2003. Mom was born in West Bend, SK on December 8, 1927. Mom and Dad raised their daughters in Foam Lake, SK and moved the family to Saskatoon in 1970. Mom was very active in the Mount Royal-Emmanuel United Church and was a lifetime member of the United Church Women. Mom will be greatly missed by her family and anyone that touched her life. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 26th, 2009 at Hillcrest Funeral Home (east on 8th Street, turn right before the railway crossing) with Reverend Dale Morrison officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mount Royal-Emmanuel United Church (521 Vancouver Ave N, Saskatoon, SK S7L 4J8) or St. Volodymyr Villa Corporation (3102 Louise Place, Saskatoon, SK S7J 4X4).
