Hazel Sapieha (Bisal nee Ireland) December 4, 1913 October 17, 2009 Hazel passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Home to be with the Lord at the age of 95 years. Hazel left behind to mourn her passing her son, Marvin Bisal, grandchildren, Anne (Jason) Jones, Sara (Hazen) Bezanson, David (Jo-Lee) and great grandchildren, Payne, Findley, Margaret, Owen, Evangeline; her half brother, Grant (Judie) Ireland; as well as her many nieces and nephews. Hazel was predeceased by her parents, Allan and Hilda Ireland; brother, Howard; stepmother, Alice; her first husband, Jacob Bisal (1964); and daughter in law, Margaret Bisal. In 2006, Hazel was predeceased by her second husband, Paul Sapieha, who Hazel married in 1973, and is survived by her stepchildren, Lawrence (Linda) Sapieha, Elaine (Jerry) Stadnyk, Ken (Donna) Sapieha, Ron (Vonnie) Sapieha; and numerous step grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Hazel was born in Mossbank, Saskatchewan and resided in Moose Jaw, Regina, and Saskatoon. Hazel worked at Fashion Fur in Saskatoon for 30 years until her retirement in 1975. After retiring Hazel and Paul enjoyed traveling and went on many tours. Hazel will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Prayers for Hazel will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at Park Funeral Chapel, 311 Third Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, October 23, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of St. George, 214 Avenue M South, Saskatoon, SK with celebrant Rt. Rev. Vladimir Mudri. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery, Saskatoon, SK, following the service. The family extends a sincere thank you to the Sisters and staff of St. Joseph's Home for their loving care of Hazel.
