Lila Elizabeth HAMILL

SHUMEY Lila Elizabeth Went to be with her Lord and Savior, on Saturday, October 17th, 2009. Lila was born in Vancouver, B.C., November 7, 1931 to parents Elizabeth and William Hamill. Lila worked for 31 years as a meat wrapper for Super Valu. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Lila loved to cook, and entertain. She loved to golf with her husband John and son Ron. She also loved to be in the garden. Left to honor and cherish her memory is her son, Ronald Shumey and his wife Susan; her grandchildren and their spouses Justin Hawkins, wife Bettina, Michael Shumey, wife Athena Steven Shumey, wife Stephani; David Shumey, partner Tessa Uribe, Leanne Shumey, partner Andrew Johnstone; her great-grandchildren Noah and Emma Hawkins; Micah, Janelle, Peter and Keziah Shumey, and Jermaine Uribe; her sisters-in-law Muriel Hamill and Avalon Hamill; her nieces Jean Arnold, Lillian Hamilton, Kay Lee, husband Bob, Pat Takahashi, Eileen McKenzie, husband Chris, Margaret Fisher, husband Peter, and Kathy Hamill; extended family and friends. Lila is predeceased by her husband John Alan; her daughter Darlene Anne; brothers Bill, Sam, David, and Jim, sisters Mary and Catherine. Thank you to everyone for all of the love and support. A celebration of Lila Shumey's life will be held on Friday, October 23rd, 2009 at 1:00 pm, at Peace Portal Alliance, 15128 - 27 Ave Surrey, B.C. (in the Main Sanctuary).
