Catherine BURKE

HALVERSON (Burke) Catherine Passed away peacefully at Peace Arch Hospital on October 16, 2009. Cathy is survived by her loving husband August of 46 years, niece Joan (Bob), nephew Jim (Shonet) and many other relatives. Cathy was a registered nurse spending most of her career at St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver. She also nursed in Olympia, Washington for some time. Cathy was very involved in her church and enjoyed needlework and knitting. She volunteered endless hours knitting baby clothes for the hospital auxiliary. She will be dearly missed by all, especially her husband August. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, October 31, 2009 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2350 - 148th Street, Surrey, BC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to St. Paul's Hospital Foundation, 1081 Burrard St., Suite 178, Vancouver, BC V6Z 9Z9. .
