Leonard PRIEST

PRIEST Leonard January 24, 1924 - October 15, 2009 With deepest sadness we announce the passing of Leonard Priest. Len is predeceased by his parents Frederick Oscar and Ethel Ann Priest, brothers Frederick, Charles and Frank. Survived by his loving wife of 65 years Betty, his brother Art (Evelyn), children Debbie (David), Ray, Jim (Coral), grandchildren Eric, Jacqui (Chris), Brett, Ryan, Shawna, Marc and Julia. Great grandchildren Ashton & Melody. Fondly remembered by his friends Vic & Grace Scholl, Ben Smith, Jack Seehuber, Marg Dickson, Jim & Shirley Greenlees, Al & Doreen, Ehl & many good neighbours and friends. Len attended Douglas Elementary and John Oliver High School in Vancouver. Len joined the RCNVR on May 13, 1942. He proudly served his country during WWII from Vancouver - St. Johns NFLD where he met his wife. Later he joined CTS and then moved forward to the engineering department at B.C. Tel. He retired after 37 years of service in 1983. Len received his 65 year plaque form the Army & Navy club, he was the longest living member and he faithfully marched every Remembrance Day, rain or shine. Len also belonged to the Art Apps where he had many friends, had good fun and fond memories. Len will be deeply missed by many! A memorial service will be held on October 26, at 4:30 p.m. at South Burnaby United Church, 7551 Gray Avenue, Burnaby.
