FORD Ron It is with a great sense of loss and sadness that friends and family mourn the death of Ronald Paul Ford on October 14, 2009 in North Vancouver. Ron will always be lovingly remembered by June, his wife of 48 years, his son Michael, daughters Cheri and Donna, his six grandchildren, sister Esther, nieces and nephews and many friends. Born in Klamath Falls, Oregon on November 14, 1930, Ron spent much of his life in Southern California prior to his move to Vancouver in 1962. His many qualities included his sense of humour, his adoration of his family, his compassion and sense of honour and his love of sports. A physical education teacher and coach at Sir Charles Tupper Secondary School for over 35 years, Ron touched the lives of literally thousands of students. In his retirement, he enjoyed over ten years working for Orca Bay Sports where he continued his love of sports cheering for the Vancouver Canucks. A memorial service will be held at St. David's United Church at 1525 Taylor Way, West Vancouver on Sunday, November 8, 2009 at 2:00 pm. In recognition of the extraordinary care Ron received from the Palliative Care staff at Lions Gate Hospital and the North Shore Home Care Nurses, donations may be made in Ron's name to the Lions Gate Hospice Society at www.lionsgatehospicesociety.org/ . Published in the Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on 10/24/2009
