Joan TERBORG

HENRY, Joan (nee terBorg) February 2, 1921 October 21, 2009 Passed away peacefully on October 21st, 2009 at the Victoria General Hospital. Joan was predeceased by her husband, Ross and son, Jim. She is survived by four daughters, Joan (Marvin) Cooney, Yvonne (Rob Pennie), Fay (Zig) Kincses and Renee (James) Lyon; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann and brother, Dries and their families in Holland. Joan immigrated to Canada from the Netherlands in 1951 and took up residence in Langford. She was a unique adventurous woman, very strong and determined, who loved her family and had a special love of her dogs. Joan had a green thumb which showed up in her garden work. In later years she became a Canuck's fan who looked forward to the games. She was an active member of the Legion, participating in shuffle board, lawn bowling and dance activities. Joan will be sorely missed by family and friends. Funeral service will be held Monday, October 26th at 1:00 pm at the Sands Funeral Chapel, 317 Goldstream Ave. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society. 566079 Published in the Victoria Times-Colonist from 10/24/2009- 10/25/2009
