LaFORGE - Joseph Donald Born February 21, 1929 in Smokey Lake, Alberta, passed peacefully in hospice on October 13. He was predeceased by his identical twin John (Jack) LaForge and his life long best friend Gloria LaForge. Joe was a devoted father and will be sadly missed by his three daughters, Jo-Ann Mihaichuk (Rick), Jacqueline Woodley and Michele LaForge (Paul Wilson); his many grandchildren and his very special lady Lana Wong. Joe and Jack moved from Alberta to BC at 18 to become loggers and Joe continued in the forestry industry until his retirement. In spite of losing his eyesight in recent years, Joe stayed stubbornly independent until recent months when his health rapidly deteriorated due to lung cancer. A memorial service to honour Joe will be held at Deer Lake United Church, 5135 Sperling Ave, Burnaby at 1:00 pm, Thursday, October 29. Light refreshment will follow.
