OBITUARY H. CHARLES (CHARLIE) SMITH It is with profound sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Charlie on October 21, 2009 at the Lakeshore General Hospital. He will never be forgotten. Charlie was most cherished, a devoted and loving husband to Bernice, his best friend who was present at his bedside at the time of his death. Charlie will be lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched. Charlie enjoyed bridge, reading, music, humor and travel, but most of all sharing life stories with his many friends. Born in England in 1924, he was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother James. Charlie leaves behind his daughter Marsha (Brian) Lesperance and his grand-daughters Alison and Cynthia Tomney and two great grand-children. Charlie will be deeply missed by the children of Bernice whom he dearly loved. Lynne (Al), Joanne (Norman), Ted (Cyndi), Gord (Joanne), Kathy. A devoted step-grandfather to Gord Jr., Brian (Keira), Steven, Christopher, Katie, Madison, Geoffrey, Neil, Dana, and Zackary. He will also be missed by relatives and many friends both in Canada and England. Special thanks to Dr. Znajda, Dr. Polson, and the nursing staff at the Lakeshore General Hospital for their professional and special care. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St Luke's Catholic Church. 106A, Rue Anselme-Lavigne, Dollard-des-Ormeaux, QC, H9A 1N8 on Thursday, October 29 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.
