Joseph James McArthur Maopiya Op' ta Wahinkna Lightning Moves Across -The Sky It is with great sadness that we announce that Joe has continued his journey to the spirit world on October 23, 2009 in Arcola, Saskatchewan at the age of 94 years young. Joseph was born on September 3, 1915 and was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and friend and is survived by Daughters; Pearl, Mae (Delmar), and Vera (Tom), Sons; James, Alvin (Audrey), Danny (Donna) and Peter (Sally). Numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Survived by one sister, Rosabelle Standingready. Predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Gladys, Children: Ruth, Edward, Philomene, Rosella, Rita; Sisters: Olive, Mary Anne, Cora, Dora, Violet; Brothers: Henry, Steve, Edward, Danny; His parents: John & Philomena McArthur. Pallbearers: 12 Great Grandsons, Honorary Pallbearers: Jackie McCleod, Victor Sammy, Don Saleteski, Henry Skywater, Bud McArthur, Tuffy Helgason, Harold Smith, Hamilton Longknife, Edward Pelletier, and all the Nakota Elders. A traditional wake will be held on Monday, October 26th, 2009 at 5:00 pm at the Kisbey Rec Centre with Feast and Giveaway to be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, October 27th, 2009 with Funeral Services to follow.
