LAPPIN, Grant Michael October 13, 1980 - October 25, 2009 It is with great sorrow that the family and friends of Grant announce his passing. He fought a courageous battle since being diagnosed September 30, 2007 with a very aggressive brain tumor. He leaves to mourn his fiance Doreen (Doll) Chandra; brother Peter Lappin; parents: Garry and Mignonne (Min) and his very special Auntie Anne; as well as numerous family and friends, including his close friend, Matthew Kading. Grant will be remembered as a kind, intelligent, gentle man with an infectious sense of humor who always acknowledged and considered everyone. His passions include his work as a Systems Analyst with Capital Health, dancing, cooking, traveling, reading, painting/drawing and the list just keeps going as he was always wanting to learn and experience new things. A Prayer Service will be held Friday, October 30, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Michael's Resurrection Parish, 10555-50A Street, Edmonton, AB. Celebration of Grant's life will be held on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Resurrection Parish with Father Roger Keeler officiating. A special thank you to the compassionate Palliative Care team at the Grey Nuns Unit 43, Dr. Thai and The Pain and Symptom Team, Dr. Petruk and the DCA Brain Cancer Research team at the U of A, the Cross Cancer Institute, the Neurosurgery team at the U of A Unit 4A2 and to his wonderful Northeast Home Care nurses. Donations may be made to "Making Poverty History," the Canadian Brain Tumor Foundation, STELP, The DCA Brain Cancer Research at the U of A, Home Care and/or to Unit 43 at the Grey Nuns.
