Heshmatolah RAM

RAM, Dr. Heshmatolah 84, passed away peacefully on October 23rd, in Ottawa. Loving husband of Mrs. Margaret Ram, dearly loved father of Neda (Soheil Habibi), Shiva (Kan Yan), and Vargha Ram (Nousha Etemad). Beloved grandfather of Sherwin, Charlene, Amelia, Anisa, and Adriana. Kind brother of Abdi and Afsar Ram, predeceased by Dariush and Syroos Ram and Manutchehr Gabriel. Dr. Ram was a dentist in Iran before immigrating to Canada in 1979 due to religious persecution. A dedicated and steadfast Baha'i, Dr. Ram`s life embodied these words of Abdul-Baha: 'Do not be content with showing friendship in words alone, let your heart burn with loving-kindness for all who may cross your path.' In his youth, he served selflessly for 7 years as the only dentist in a remote rural town. Later in his home town, for 30 years, he served rich and poor alike, with utmost kindness, providing free dental treatment on his off days to prisoners and nearby villagers. His family home both in Iran and Canada was always open to all who needed love and care. He is fondly remembered for his gentle nature, his serenity and humility and his absolute contentment with the will of God. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the caregiving support he received during the last years of his life at his home and at the Ottawa Grace Manor.
