Maxine Margaret UPHILL

Maxine Margaret Brown (Uphill) Maxine passed away peacefully, at the age of 75 years, at St. Paul's Hospital on Monday October 26, 2009. She is survived by her loving husband of 56 years, Gordon; her son, Doug (Lynn); daughter, Sandra Ganchar (Glen); her five grandchildren, Jarid, Lisa, Kyle, Kendra and Taylor; her sisters, Dorothy Rector of Saskatoon, Joyce Gwilliam of Edmonton, Nora (John) Conner of Dawson Creek, and Jean (Jack) Schwann of Saskatoon. She was predeceased by her son, Kenneth; her parents, Eva Marie and William; and siblings, Wilfred, Eva, Howard, Ed, Wilma and Fred. Maxine was born on September 23, 1934 in Ibstone, SK. She was raised in Battleford and moved to Saskatoon where she met and married Gordon Brown. They made their life in Saskatoon where Maxine worked at City Hospital until her retirement. She had a special love for anything country. They spent many of their days listening to western music, attending rodeos, riding and raising horses. As her family grew, she loved to watch her grandchildren learn to ride as well. Being part of her grandchildren's lives was something that was always important to her. She spent many hours with them at the acreage, the hockey rinks and at the lake. Maxine was also very creative and spent many hours creating all kinds of crafts. Grandma Max will always be in our hearts and remembered forever xoxo. A graveside service will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 30, 2009. Family and friends can meet at the entrance to Woodlawn Cemetery at 2:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation (279 3rd Avenue North, Saskatoon, SK S7K 2H8) in memory of Maxine would be appreciated.
