KAY Stella Muriel (nee Crewdson) 1926 October 30 - 2009 October 18 Stella quietly passed away in New Westminster where she was born and married having lived most of her life in south Burnaby. Stella was the perfect partner for her husband Hugh of 54 years raising a family, traveling extensively, as well as joyously providing home entertainment for friends, family and business associates. Stella was well known for her baking of tasty treats by family and friends. She consistently won baking prizes at the fall fairs at the Burnaby Garden Club where she was a longtime member. Stella also won hundreds of Garden Club awards for her flower growing, arrangements, baskets, vegetables, jams and relishes. Her artistic talents extended to her paintings that will be treasured as personal mementos. Stella is predeceased by her husband Hugh, son Robert, brother Ron, sister Marguerite. She is survived by her sisters Betty and Eve, daughters Barbara (Alan) and Linda (Derek), son David (Karen), grandchildren Robert, Nicole, Jocelyn, Alexander, Kathleen, Sean, as well as many nieces and nephews. Thank you to Stella's visitors and wellwishers as her smiles showed she was feeling happy and loved during her final week. Everyone who knew Stella speaks of her quiet kindness, warm smile, willingness to help out, genuine hospitality, a real lady. We all miss her presence and will keep her in our memories. A celebration of life will take place 3:00 - 7:00 October 30 (call 604-525-2082). In lieu of flowers please donate to the Food Bank or the Union Gospel Mission.
