Helen Woods, 82 PRESCOTT -- Helen Vivian Woods, 82, died December 27 in Prescott. She was born May 30, 1922 at Huntingdon, Que., the daughter of Rev. R.D. and Nellie Mullin. She married Paul Woods. She had worked at Newell Manufacturing in Prescott and enjoyed her family, gardening, knitting, church and watching baseball and hockey. Mrs. Woods is survived by her son David Woods and wife Gail and two grandchildren, Bryan and his fiancee Tracey Slaunwhite of Etobicoke and Alyson of Ottawa, as well as brother-in-law Bill Grylls and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, sisters Gladys and Meda and brother George. Friends called at the Chris Slater Funeral Home on December 30. The funeral was held in St. Paul's United Church on December 31, with Rev. Alan Bennett, of Wall Street United Church, Brockville, officiating. A committal service followed at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland. The pallbearers were Wray Dickson, Bryan Woods, Dave Batchelor, Bob Grylls, Carl Montgomery and Lloyd Reddick. Honorary bearers were Joe Doyle, Bill Grylls, Earl Carroll and Hall Kirkby. Memorial donations were directed to the Canadian Cancer Society and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
