Gordon Frank FOWNES

FOWNES, Gordon Frank Peacefully in Ottawa, Wednesday, October 28, 2009, after a lengthy illness at age 58. Brother of Brock (Nina), Baddeck, N.S., and of Janet Webster (Peter), Dartmouth, N.S., uncle to Josie, Molly, Luke. Predeceased by parents Leo and Vivian. A player and coach for the Ottawa Irish Rugby Club for almost thirty years, Mr. Fownes also played for the Llanelli Scarlet Rugby Club of Wales from 1973-75 and was selected for Canada's National Rugby team in 1977. Long time employee of Bell Canada. Gardener, collector, trainer of show horses. Visitors will be received at Moe's Newport Restaurant, 334 Richmond Rd.
