Francis Charles Dufour 1919 2009 It is with great sadness that the family of Charlie announce his passing on Tuesday October 27, 2009 at the age of 89. Charlie was predeceased by his mother Clara Pelletier and father Jean Baptiste Dufour; brother Michael Dufour and sisters Helen Mayes and Betty Lawson. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Violet; his children Arnold (Louise), Darlene (Les), Charles (Shirley), Allen (Marla), Cheryl (Ted); as well 16 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; four great great grandchildren and one brother Harvey Dufour. Francis (Charlie) was born December 11, 1919 in Regina, SK. He joined the Canadian Army in 1941 and served with distinction in the 67th field battery in Germany, France and Holland during World War II. Charlie was honorably discharged in 1945. Charlie and Violet (nee Anderson) were married in May of 1946. Charlie started his own business as a building contractor in 1946. In 1959 they bought property in the valley near Craven and became successful ranchers. Charlie retired in his early eighties and settled in their home in Regina. Charlie had a long and hard battle with congestive heart failure and kidney failure which eventually took his life. Flowers gratefully declined. An informal visitation will take place Friday October 30, 2009 from 7:00 9:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK.
