BATTEN "Gerry" Gerard Francis Passed away Saturday, October 24th in North Vancouver. Born in 1919 in Bristol, England and raised in B.C. Gerry joined the PPCLI in 1939 and served in Europe for 5 years until he was wounded in Italy. He later served with the Seaforth Highlanders 72nd Cadets as a Major for a total of 40 years with the military. Gerry was, in every way a gentleman and his family and friends will miss his kindness and thoughtfulness. He is survived by his wife Tania, son Paul (Carol), daughter Sandra, four grandchildren, Christa, Raisa, Ella and Joffrey, sister Joan Lefaux, brother Tony and many nephews and nieces. We thank all those who cared for him at Cedarview Lodge. Their good humour, patience and extraordinary kindness were beyond expectations. No service will be held, at his request.
