CLARKE , Marjorie Ellen December 9, 1915 - October 27, 2009 Marjorie was born in Black Diamond, Alberta and lived a long, happy and healthy life. She grew up in Turner Valley, Alberta where, during her school years, she met her husband, Frank. Like many young women she endured a long separation during WWII caring for her two young children. She was fortunate to have Frank survive extensive combat and return to her in 1945. Marjorie was married for almost sixty years. Her happiest years were the twenty she and Frank spent on Lake Shuswap where they established a wonderful lakefront home and family vacation spot creating many beautiful memories for everyone. She was an active person and possessed a very sharp mind right up until her death. She travelled all over the world and in her later years loved to take cruises. Marjorie enjoyed playing bridge and duplicate bridge which she continued with a group of friends until shortly before her death. Marjorie did not want a Service held and wished simply to be remembered "favorably" and asked that her family and friends "make your own farewells in your own hearts". Marjorie was predeceased by her husband, Frank, and her grandson Sean Patrick Clarke. She is survived by her daughter Joanne Evans (Doug); sons Patrick (Myrna) and John (Andrea); grandchildren Jane Spratt, Nancy Spratt (Mark), Susan Spratt (Ross), Michael Clarke (Karen), Kevin Clarke, Janne Holmgren (Jim), Mackenzie Clarke, and Lauren Clarke; great-grandchildren Sarah, John, Jack, Emma, Elliott and Mijken.
