MECONI Norando September 22, 1930 to November 1, 2008 Dear Noni It is still so hard to believe that you are gone. It's difficult to look around and see all the reminders of you. I miss our talks, our plans, your compliments, and just having you with me. We were a good team. I've cried so much, but the tears still come. Love: Velma Dear Dad, When we relive the shock of last November 1st, our sadness is immense. Throughout the last year we have learned to live quietly with the pain, realizing that the passage of time doesn't change the harsh truth that we will never see or speak with you again. But Dad, we want you to know that you are not far away from us. Your values, hopes and dreams live deeply within our hearts and ceaselessly reveal themselves in unsuspecting ways, through our private thoughts, through words to our children, through our moods and actions, our own hopes and dreams, and through all those things that you taught us to appreciate and love. Our days are filled with sudden flashbacks of countless memories of you, at different stages in our lives, triggered at unpredictable moments by a spoken word, a random thought, an action, a piece of music, an image. We miss having those Sunday dinners together, the weekend driving trips, your challenges to the grandchildren, and your special attention for the apple trees on your "Heaven on earth". We miss hearing how proud of Mom you were. We cherish your memory, knowing that we kept a part of you that cannot be taken away and will live on with love through us and our families. We miss you so much. With Love... Mariano, Gavin, Marc; Frances, Renato, David, Carolyn; Mary Catherine, Richard, Nicole, Andrew, Brandon, Elise; Julia, John, Emily Dear Dad, A year has passed and we still shake our heads in disbelief that you are gone. We miss so much about you- your jokes at the dinner table, your challenges to Matthew to "squeeze my hand" and "show me what ya got", the joy on your face from watching Stephi dance, sing or chatter, your encouragement of Christine to learn her Spanish and Latin. Greg misses all those kitchen table and patio talks about cards, family and history. He always looked so forward to seeing you. Most of all, we miss having you as an example for the kids of someone who is intelligent, educated, hard-working and honourable. We saw how you valued your family, your Italian heritage and your work. We're proud of everything you accomplished, Dad, and we miss you terribly. Love: Louise, Greg, Christine, Matthew, Stephanie Published in the Windsor Star on 10/31/2009
