DENKHAUS, Heinz May 11, 1905 - October 6, 2009 Heinz passed away peacefully at Westview Extended Care, Stony Plain, Alberta, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his children: Hannelore (Willie) Shabada, Bill Cook (son-in-law), Helen (Ron) McHarg, Marianne (George) Pinchbeck and Bob (Shirley); his 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Johanna; his daughters: Hilde Cook and Wilma Nordlund and son-in-law Allan Nordlund. Heinz was born in Bochum, Germany in 1905 and emmigrated to Canada in 1930 with his new wife. They moved to Edmonton Beach then in 1943 settled on a farm in Heatherdown. In 1977 they retired to Stony Plain. Shortly after Hannah died in 1992, Heinz moved to Whispering Waters and 12 years later to Westview Extended Care. He made many dear friends at both places and often enjoyed leading everyone in song. His positive attitude, quick wit, sense of humour and impromptu ditties will be missed. Heinz was active, healthy and singing until two days prior to his passing. His family is so appreciative of the care he was given at Westview Extended Care and Whispering Waters. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in Stony Plain United Church, 5014 - 51 Avenue, Stony Plain, with Reverend Sharon Irving officiating. Memorial Tributes may be made to the "Light Up Your Life Palliative Care Campaign," c/o Westview Health Centre, 4405 - South Park Drive, Stony Plain, AB T7Z 2M7.
