de WAAL, Thomas "Tom" On October 6, 2009 Tom de Waal of Millet passed away at the age of 75 years. Tom is survived by his wife of 51 years, Audrey; sons and daughters, Susan (Denis) Lemire of Millet, Joanne (Brian) Pipke of Leduc, Tom (Carolyn) of Prince George B.C., Sandy (Leanne) of Beaumont and Emil (Jody) of Leduc; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; five sisters and five brothers as well as numerous nieces, nephews and many friends. Tom was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Hendrika de Waal; two brothers and two sisters. Funeral service will be held at Baker Funeral Chapel, 5302-50 Avenue, Wetaskiwin on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Rick Poirier officiating. Cremation to follow with private interment at a later date in the Millet Cemetery. Memorial tributes gratefully accepted to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, T6G 1Z2. A special thank you to the staff on Unit 40 at the Cross Cancer Institute, the staff at the Wetaskiwin Health Centre as well as Dave Vaillancourt, Brenda Bailer, Sonja Hildebrand, Eddie Ano and Dr. York.
