STARK John Passed away peacefully on October 2nd, 2009 in Vancouver at the age of 76. Predeceased by his father John, mother Marika (Vrlak), brother Joe and sister Luisa (Jurjevich). His strength, humor and kindness along with his stories and caring nature will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 42 years, Shirley (Wotton), sons Roger and Wayne and many other extended family members and friends. He is joining his many friends and family where he will continue to share his stories of his journey. John, born in Vancouver on September 2nd, 1933, travelled to his parents' country of Croatia at the age of 12 with his mother, father and sister. He then returned to Vancouver in 1950, where he worked in several jobs, before starting his 38 year career at Roger's Sugar (BC Sugar Refinery) in 1955. In the summer of 1966 he met and then married his wife Shirley on December 2nd of that same year. After retiring, John and Shirley cruised North America to destinations like Alaska, the Panama Canal and the Caribbean. John enjoyed fishing, bowling, cards, his vegetable garden including his prized plum tree and summer family vacations at Qualicum Beach. He also contributed time to LPBC, a Non-Profit Society that the family was involved in. No service at the request of the family.
