SHAYLER Charles Robert April 9, 1923 - October 4, 2009 Charles (Chuck) Shayler was a good man. He always cared for others and had the ability to make people feel special. Chuck passed away at home in the early hours of October 4, 2009. He is predeceased by his wife Gloria (2002) and daughter Sharon (1994). He is survived by his sons Bill (Myra) and John (Chris), grandchildren Tom (Sue), Michelle (Glenn), Donna (Tasha), Laura (Mark), Lisa, and Lee, eight great-grandchildren, and his brothers Ed and Don. Chuck was born in Winnipeg where he grew up in a large family. He moved to Vancouver in 1939 and joined the Canadian Armed Forces, rising to the rank of Sergeant. In 1944, he married the love of his life, Gloria Errico, began his job with the B.C. Electric as a streetcar motorman, and soon became a father. In Chuck's words: "He lived the best of lives." He was loved by many and will be greatly missed, but his goodness, caring, humour, and a twinkle in his eyes will live on in others. The family wishes to express our special thanks to the residents and staff of Seton Villa for their friendship, support and care. Chuck requested that no formal funeral services be held.
