Alphonse ROLLHEISER

Alphonse Rollheiser 1919-2009 Alphonse Rollie Rollheiser, aged 90, passed away peacefully at St. Paul's Hospital in Saskatoon on October 11, 2009. He was born and raised on the family farm near Denzil Saskatchewan. He was second child of a family of eight. On November 4, 1952 Alphonse married Mary Medernach. They made their home and raised a family in Saskatoon. Alphonse worked as a City of Saskatoon bus driver from 1953 until his retirement in 1984. Alphonse is lovingly remembered by his four children, Greg (Sandra) of The Hague, Netherlands; Bernadette of Calgary; Genny of Saskatoon and Gene (Leanne) of Saskatoon; his brother Florian (Lucy) of Medicine Hat; seven grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren; He was predeceased by his wife, Mary, in 1998; his father, Alexander, in 1950; his mother, Sophie, in 1988; his brothers Marcus in 1982; Albert in 1985; Leo in 2000; Sam in 2008; John in 2009; and his sister Ann Ollenberger in 2006. The Vigil of Prayer will be held on Wednesday, October 14, 2009 at 8 p.m., and the Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at 10 a.m., both from St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 20th Street and Avenue `O', celebrated by Fr. Jon Hansen. Interment will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon. In lieu of flowers friends so wishing may make memorial donations to a Charity of One's Choice. The family would like to thank the staff at Quality Care Home for the quality of life they provided for Dad in his last 2 years of life, as well as the staff on the 6th floor medical unit at St. Paul's Hospital for the palliative care provided in his last week of life.
