Ernest CRONK

CRONK-Ernest (Ernie) passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, November 12, 2008 at the age of 84. He leaves to mourn son Garth (Bev) Cronk, Regina; daughter Kathie Cronk, Vancouver; daughter Bev Meyer, Regina son Byron Cronk, Regina; grandchildren: Jennifer (Joel), Jonathan, Michelle, Geoff, Chad (Nicole), Jolene, Aaron and Ashley and great grandchildren: Blake, Logan, Hannah and Ethan. Ernie was predeceased by his wife Yvette in 2006; son-in-law Wayne Meyer in 1993; his parents Stanley and Caroline Cronk; one bother Ralph and his wife Darlene Cronk. Ernie was born on October 24, 1924 in Quinton, SK. He later graduated from Notre Dame in Wilcox. After moving to Indian Head he met and married Yvette Pilon on August 12, 1953. They owned and operated the United Store, The Red and White Store and built Cronk's Tomboy in 1967. They moved to Regina in 2005 for health reasons. Ernie was a long time member of the Elks. He owned several successful race horses and he enjoyed his time at the race track. He could frequently be found at the hockey rink, curling rink or the ball diamonds as an avid spectator and sponsor of many teams. The family extends a special thanks to the staff at the Cherished Hearts Personal Care Home. The funeral mass will be celebrated by Rev. Leonardo Tamayo in St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Indian Head, Sk on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with interment of cremated remains in Indian Head Cemetery. Prayers will be held in the Church Friday at 7:30.
