TAYLOR-Dorothy (Doris) 1922 2008 Doris Taylor (nee Irwin) died surrounded by her family on November 11, 2008. She is survived by her son, Bob (Rejeanne), daughter Pat (Alan) Buckley and son-in-law Ron Dedman, and her grandchildren: Alan (Kim) Dedman, Heather (Michael) McMurray, Michael Dedman, Nicole (Matt) Salens, Dave (Jen) Taylor, Danelle (Pete) Prescesky, Michelle (Brendyn) Seymour, Laura Buckley, Jenn Buckley and great-grandchildren: Parker, Luke and Isaac; and her sisters Liela Hastie and Maureen Laberge and sister-in-law Marjorie Epp. Doris was born in Belfast, N. Ireland and immigrated to Montreal at the age of 5. It was there that she met the love of her life Maurice in 1942. Upon completion of his military service, they relocated first to the Taylor family farm at Truax, SK before settling in Saskatoon for the remainder of their active lives. Doris' life was centered on her family and friends with many Sunday dinners including extended family members; specifically those away from home while attending the U of S. Doris was a loving mother, enthusiastic grandmother and proud great-grandmother. Her family will always remember her passion for any activity that occurred during a family Cypress Hills reunion. Among her many church and community activities were leading the Girls Auxiliary, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, serving on the Altar Guild and Life Membership in the ACW at St James Anglican Church; President of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 362, member of the Home and School Association, Women's Auxiliary of the Western Development Museum where she enthusiastically demonstrated butter churning / ice cream making and led the singing group for many years. Beyond these activities Doris was always up for a game of Bridge or a round of golf at the Wildwood Golf Club. The family expresses a special thanks to the many caregivers from the Saskatoon Health Region Home Care. Your concern and kindness made our mother's passing so much easier. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Saskatoon Health Region, Home Care Division, 310 Idylwyld Drive, Saskatoon SK, S7L 0Z2. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at 1:00 pm at St. James Anglican Church. Interment will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery.
