Hulda SCHESKE

RENNIE, Hulda November 24, 1923 November 11, 2008 Passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on Tuesday, November 11 at Victoria General Hospital. Predeceased by her husband, Roy, in 1976 and daughter Brenda in 1981; 8 sisters and 2 brothers. Survived by daughters: Barb (Murray) and Bev (Lorne); grandchildren: Shawna (Mike), Luke (Ashley), Josh, Randi, Ryan (Kristi), Jayne, Danielle and Dale; great grandchildren: Kurtis, Izayah, Jessica, Taia, Caleb, Kiana, and Evelyn and brother Phil (Ann) and many nieces and nephews. Hulda was born St. Boswell, Saskatchewan to Edward and Barbara Scheske. She married Roy in 1947 and moved to Victoria in 1952 where they raised their family in Langford. Although, circumstances forced her to leave school to work after grade 8, she returned to school to attain her high school diploma at the age of 52. Hulda was a "hands on Granny" who took great delight in the accomplishments of her grandchildren. Ever the optomist, she found the silver lining in all situations and believed in the inherent goodness of people. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunset Lodge for the care and attention Hulda received. Funeral Service will be held at Sands Funeral Chapel, 317 Goldstream Avenue, Colwood, BC on Saturday, November 15 at 10:00 am.
